William R. Oorbeek
William Oorbeek is the president of The Oorbeek Group, a well-respected fundraising and communications company based in Washington, DC.
Prior to forming The Oorbeek Group, Oorbeek served as the Executive Director of "Together for Our Majority PAC" (TOMPAC). Working with Honorary Chairman Congressman Tom Reynolds (R-NY), Oorbeek built TOMPAC into the 2nd largest leadership PAC in the US House of Representatives with over $2.7 million in federal receipts during the 2006 election cycle.
While serving as Executive Director for TOMPAC, Oorbeek planned and executed events featuring President George W. Bush, Vice-President Richard Cheney, former White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card, Senior White House advisor Karl Rove, RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman, former Speaker J. Dennis Hastert, former Majority Leader Tom DeLay, Republican Leader John Boehner and countless other leading Republican figures.
Prior to TOMPAC, Oorbeek worked as the Director of Individual Major donors at the NRCC during the 2000 election cycle. Oorbeek was responsible for reviving a donor program which raised less than $1 million for the 1998 mid-term election and went on to raise nearly $10 million for the NRCC during the crucial 2000 election cycle.
Oorbeek graduated cum laude from Frostburg State University in Maryland.
Oorbeek and his wife Denise, currently reside in Alexandria, VA.
Mary Elizabeth Tillman
Mary Elizabeth Tillman, is the Vice President, Member Finance for the Oorbeek Group. For the last four years Mary Elizabeth has been raising money for two Political Action Committees (PACs), first with Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and then UST Inc. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and UST Inc.'s PACs were among the top fundraisers within their industries. In addition to political fundraising she also worked on grassroots, foundation, company outreach and community relations. These roles provided a variety of skills from financial planning, spokesperson, event planning, project management, recruitment, and sales. From 2000 to 2005 Mary Elizabeth worked for Congressman Howard Coble of North Carolina.
Outside of her professional career she serves as the President of the North Carolina Society of Washington, DC.
Mary Elizabeth graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.
Denise Mills Oorbeek
Denise Mills Oorbeek currently serves as a consultant advising non-profit and political organizations on their fundraising strategy.
Prior to becoming a full-time consultant, Oorbeek was Vice President of BUILD-PAC, the National Association of Home Builders Political Action Committee. In one election cycle she grew the PAC 36% from $3,000,000 to $4,000,000.
Prior to joining NAHB, Ms. Oorbeek managed MORPAC, the Mortgage Bankers Association Political Action Committee for nearly four years. At the Mortgage Bankers, she grew the PAC from just under $500,000 to over a $1,000,000.
Prior to joining MBA in 2001, Ms. Oorbeek worked for two years at Kelly and Associates, Inc. a government and public affairs firm in Washington, DC where she worked on behalf of several Fortune 500 clients, including BMW and Perdue Farms. Prior to that, she served former U.S. Senator Spencer Abraham (R-MI). Her background also includes work on several political campaigns and for various political groups.
Ms. Oorbeek received her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana. She is a native of Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan and currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband, Bill.
Kristi L. Decknick
Kristi Decknick is currently the Manager of Political Affairs with The Oorbeek Group while also finishing up her senior year at George Mason University. Kristi will graduate this spring with a Bachelors Degree in Global Affairs, with a Global Diplomacy and Governance focus.
Prior to joining The Oorbeek Group, Kristi served as the President of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, Financial Vice President, Assistant Financial Chair, Fundraising Chairperson, and currently as the sorority Parliamentarian.
While serving as President of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, Kristi raised thousands of dollars for charities. As a result, Kristi won recognition by Gamma Phi Beta national leadership for her efforts.
Kristi graduated with honors from Woodside High School in Newport News, Virginia, and served as a Freshman Advisor, was a member of the National Honor Society and Model United Nations, and as the captain of both the varsity field hockey and soccer teams.
Kristi currently resides in Virginia.
